I’m a woman in business. I do the same type of thing. Reputation is everything.

I find it a little overboard, but if that’s what works for Mike and his marriage, more power to him.

This is pretty quaintly conservative, admittedly, and not something I would do.

I wonder why not. Too inconvenient for him? Wife has given up caring what he does?

In other news, 100% of women dressed as vaginas hate Mike Pence for respecting his wife.

How long will it take to get the liberal stink out of Washington and this nation?

To the deranged left, the “open” “marriage” arrangement of the sodomites is the new ideal.

Smart woman and correct. Reputation means the world and perception is everything.

I live in the swamp of the Beltway. You would be surprised at how many people here do not get that having dinner and/or drinks with certain people makes everyone else gossip or raise and eyebrow.

I’m sure the left is ticked about this because they were looking forward to taking some blurry pics of him dining with someone or having some babe come on to him at a function and making crap up, trying to create a scandal.

Honestly, I don't do that either (for lunches, dinners, etc)...much less when I'm on travel. Having said that, though, when dealing with a subordinate, I never am in a room alone with a female subordinate...unless that room has LOTS of windows where we can be observed.

But OTOH, I'm also not a public figure that needs to be concerned with a random paparazzi snapping a picture and starting a whisper campaign.

I remember reading that Harry Truman, even as an old man, always left his office door open if he had to conduct business with a woman. What Pence is doing is unusual for today, but not unheard of. But what is to to anybody if he and his wife have agreed on this? Mind your own damned business. Maybe those who like to continuously dig for dirt are upset that Pence has denied them a possible source. The other possibility is this: it seems to me that a major problem that secularists have with God and religion is that they want to have it their way sexually, but they also know deep down that they are under judgment. They would rather have their tomcat morality, however, than repent.

He never eats alone with another woman...

My wife and I have this same rule.

It’s more of a prudential necessity when one is a public figure. For an average person, depends on circumstances only the individuals can evaluate. Personally, I have no idea what my husband does when he’s away from, but nobody’s filed any harassment claims or sent me any messages, so I assume he’s reasonably cautious.

I was just struck by the phrase, “... not something I would do.”

Currently I’m training a coworker and we travel together sometimes. She’s a lot younger than me and quite a beauty however we know the boundaries and neither of us would venture into the inappropriate.

Every divorced woman I knew would have loved to have a husband who would not dine alone with another woman, or would not drink alcohol when his wife was not present.

That’s because infidelity or alcohol (or both) are the cause of nearly every divorce I know of

I never called this a “rule”.

I thought it was just common sense and respect for your partner.

Unfortunately some of my former partners didn’t think the same.

Pence is a moral gentleman. The world needs many more such moral gentlemen.
