Don't count on it. Broadly speaking, the media takes its marching orders from The New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press. Those three are not going to break with their Communist ideology. It wasn't until after his retirement from CBS that Walter Cronkite admitted he was a Communist. They, indeed, did embed themselves deeply and widely in our politics, media, entertainment, and education establishments from the 1930's forward. And, unlike in the Soviet Union, the Communists were never defeated here.
Not only that, they (the reporters, editors, pundits, producers and news readers) are happy warriors for the cause, fellow travelers. "Approved dissent" must be cultivated too, otherwise the public would become restive.
