I’m sure you support VA healthcare reforms which would be support of complete socialized medicine. If you are 65, or when you become 65, I’m sure you want your Medicare benefits. More socialized healthcare. I also bet that you would like your Social Security. More socilaized benefits.
Or, since you are such a conservative free market purist, you can skip SocSec and rely on your pension and 401K exclusively. Or you can skip Medicare and just buy your own insurance plan at 65, or we can tell veterans they need to purchase their own insurance, just to keep everything free market.
