I did notice you called Dick Cheney a chickenshit...it sure ain’t Audie Murphy either admittedly but it’s not chickenshit..

He was 26 at the height of Vietnam and his only true year of deferment with a newborn on the way

Cheney did on the other hand survive 40 plus years with a debilitating diseased heart and yet persevered when others may have lain down and whimpered through life

And provided a very nice life for his wife and kids and worked his butt off totally self made including a lot of govt service and a stint getting Halliburton numbers up sharply which he did

That is not the work of a sissy

George McGovern was a genuine war hero and deserves full credit for that as redemption

Which would you rather face as commander in facing tank divisions on the cold steppes?

You can disagree with Cheney on politics which I do to some degree but I’d not question his guts

You're right, the twee genXer was rude, your post was excellent, but he is a "gemmedatter".
