The thing is, when you wrote “without government coercion or interference” you didn’t limit it to the Federal Government, therefore State and Local governments are included by default, meaning their corporation and licensing laws should be eliminated too.

Patent law along with copyright law may be protective for some but they are rightfully coercive and interfering in regard to others who would take action if not for those laws. The fact that they are Constitutional doesn’t change that.

According to you, Jefferson should have changed the Declaration of Independence to read,

“[All men] are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, except for patent law.”

Kinda dumb huh? Not too reasonable. No, truth stands but actual practice may incorporate certain exceptions. The exceptions don’t change the truth of the rule.
