Do people understand how a Speaker is selected?
A Speaker needs a majority of the whole House. The FC would not vote with the GOP majority to elect Boehner as Speaker in the whole House vote. They had power to punish Boehner in the whole House but not enough to name ANY candidate in the GOP Caucus. Paul Ryan was deemed more acceptable than Kevin McCarthy, and in that the FC was certainly correct.
Kevin McCarthy removed himself with some stupid remark he made.....not saying he would have been any better. Truth is we need to elect more conservatives.
Kinda of like the Health Care bill. Why would they put their “principles” aside for that?
