OK, before I got banned, I was saying all along that Trump wasn’t a genuine conservative but was just playing one for TV. That said, I voted for him and I think he’s been doing a fine job, although I wish he’d be a bit more aggressive in some areas. No president ever has had this much open opposition from the press and the former occupant of the WH, and he’s got to fight back.
As for health care, people speak as if we could magically go back to a time before Obamacare. The problem is...we can’t. That entire structure was destroyed, and there’s no way to rebuild it overnight.
I’m in favor of renegotiating the bill so there’d be more specifics, but the fantasy that just repealing Obamacare is going to bring on paradise is insane. The infrastructure has to be put into place.
Trump has already repealed the individual mandate and opened the market, but the problem is that the market will take awhile to rebuild. ANd of course, nobody even knows that he repealed it because it was reported only sketchily since the press didn’t want anybody to know.
There needs to be support. There could be a lot of support from \ appealing to people who pay high dollar for plans - including Medicare plans - that have had to cut back their coverage, for example, or people whose employers have forced them to take a reduction in benefits because of Obamacare.
My feeling is that more PR work needs to be done, and that the FC has got to stop saying no from the get-go. Having a non-negotiable demand (and in fact, Trump said that they had moved the goalposts after he talked to them, so that means it’s all about them) goes nowhere in furthering your objective.
Sorry, I do not vote rino and will not vote Trump if he goes after the few good men left in Washington.
if the President is now, an advocate of socialized medicine and is reneging on his promise for a complete and immediate repeal of obamacare, as the first step in a healthcare restoration package, then as a Father and Christian, i have a sacred duty to resist him on this issue, and resist him i shall, even though i voted and supported him (with my hard earned dollars) in the election. i advise others who feel strongly that obamacare/ryancare is wrong, to do the same.
to that end, i just sent a contribution to Rep. Dave Brat who so far is standing for the right in this matter. i chose him because being in a dem district, he’s the closest avenue i have to representation on this issue.
i am praying that the President rethink his approach and come to the aid of those who want a true repeal.
I am a strong Trump supporter but not to the point I will agree with him when he is wrong. He is totally wrong on this.
He is only proving he is a politician or afraid! The Swamp may engulf him.
