My thoughts too. It’s their way or the highway. So that means nothing will get done, life as usual.

OK, before I got banned, I was saying all along that Trump wasn’t a genuine conservative but was just playing one for TV. That said, I voted for him and I think he’s been doing a fine job, although I wish he’d be a bit more aggressive in some areas. No president ever has had this much open opposition from the press and the former occupant of the WH, and he’s got to fight back.

As for health care, people speak as if we could magically go back to a time before Obamacare. The problem is...we can’t. That entire structure was destroyed, and there’s no way to rebuild it overnight.

I’m in favor of renegotiating the bill so there’d be more specifics, but the fantasy that just repealing Obamacare is going to bring on paradise is insane. The infrastructure has to be put into place.

Trump has already repealed the individual mandate and opened the market, but the problem is that the market will take awhile to rebuild. ANd of course, nobody even knows that he repealed it because it was reported only sketchily since the press didn’t want anybody to know.

There needs to be support. There could be a lot of support from \ appealing to people who pay high dollar for plans - including Medicare plans - that have had to cut back their coverage, for example, or people whose employers have forced them to take a reduction in benefits because of Obamacare.

My feeling is that more PR work needs to be done, and that the FC has got to stop saying no from the get-go. Having a non-negotiable demand (and in fact, Trump said that they had moved the goalposts after he talked to them, so that means it’s all about them) goes nowhere in furthering your objective.

Everyone needs to calm down about this tweet. I used to like the Freedom Caucus people and still do to a certain extent, but they also seem to revel in self-destruction and obstruction and that I don't like. And more importantly, Donald Trump has not deserted conservative ideals - he just wants the Freedom Caucus to realize there's a Republican in the White House now and it's time to get together and do things. We all should know by now to not get too excited by one tweet from President Trump. He'll criticize people on one day and the next try to work with them.

George W. Bush “got stuff done” and where did we end up? Bigger government, bigger deficit and the entire party in ruins.

President Bush didn't get all that much done and his approach to things was decidedly different. He wanted amnesty and all sorts of liberalish things. President Trump is different and I believe more conservative. I was originally a big supporter of President Bush but soured on him late in his second term, but I really like Donald Trump and think he's a better president.

Hey, republicans....lose your morals and principles and become a rino or I go after you.

Sorry, I do not vote rino and will not vote Trump if he goes after the few good men left in Washington.

Then there is no one left for me to vote for in the Republican party. What was it Reagan said about democrats???? Something like I did not leave the party, the party left me. At that point America is dead because there will be no Constitutionalist left.

Republicans, Trump and conservatives campaigned on repealing Obamacare. This has been seven years of promises and now we’re left with the freedom caucus supporting repeal. This is a huge deal.

Closely watching social media today and President Trump is going to take a big time hit if he continues this direction. Why spend political capitol on something that the majority of the country is going to absolutely hate?

They weakened themselves back in October. Capitulating to Ryan had led us here as I knew it would back then.

Trump really screwed up with this one. The Guys in the Freedom Caucus are in very “Safe” Districts. His threat is only going to be greeted with laughs. I am a trump supporter, but sometimes I wish he would run his proposed Tweets by some of his staff before he cranks them out. Ronald Reagan had an eleventh Commandment about not talking ill of fellow Republicans. Trump would do well to remember that.

Agreed.

The RyanCare Bill is an abomination that at never should have seen the light of day.

The big problem here is that the vast majority of Republicans in the House would like to see a more aggressive bill but there a strong enough contingent of liberal Republican RINOS who are opposing the repeal of OamaCare and who are beholden to the special interests

They are the ones really obstructing the process because they threaten to not support repeal and replace if ObamaCare get cut too much.

They are the real obstructionists that Trump needs to put pressure on.

However, the Freedom Caucus is filled with Never Trump hardliners who have made themselves enemies of the President and who have thus damaged their working relationship.

Also, the roll out of Repeal and Replace has been bungled by incompetents. There needs to be better communication with the public.

If Ted Cruz made a promise to repeal Obamacare, you can be sure he’d keep that promise.

That's right because Cruz doesn't lie (cough, cough)...

If I was in charge I'd demand an up or down vote on full repeal of Obamacare...Of course it would never pass but we could see the numbers involved...Probably Trump and Congress knows exactly what those numbers are...In which case the only option to improve Obamacare at the moment is negotiation between the left and the right of the Republican party...

There will be no full repeal and that's the reality...Trump supported a full repeal and campaigned on it...Apparently he knows that the Republican Congress will not buy it...So why are we blaming him for trying to make the best of a bad situation...

It looks like the only options available are Obamacare or Obamacare light...

The problem is that everything done by executive order can be undone with the stroke of a pen by his successor

Executive orders are not a good way to govern. I freaking hate them to be transparent. At best they are temporary and at worst an abuse of power.

Are most of the above gong to be in the latest rendition of the HC bill??

Likely none will be there...None of those things benefit big pharma or big insurance...Appears Trump can't just issue an E.O. to eliminate Obamacare so what's he to do???

And his own Party...And no President has gotten so much accomplished in such a short amount of time...

You'd prefer Obamacare 1 then???

We have no idea what might be in Obamacare 2...Perhaps there are springboards where we can jump to Obamacare 3, and then 4...

Trump wants to make sure no one dies in the street for lack of healthcare...The Freedom Caucus will never buy into that...

I’m waiting for an apology and a lifting of the soft zot I got for criticizing Trump in the primaries A lot of us saw this coming. I suppose I won’t get either but I’m glad some of this forum are starting to see the truth

if the President is now, an advocate of socialized medicine and is reneging on his promise for a complete and immediate repeal of obamacare, as the first step in a healthcare restoration package, then as a Father and Christian, i have a sacred duty to resist him on this issue, and resist him i shall, even though i voted and supported him (with my hard earned dollars) in the election. i advise others who feel strongly that obamacare/ryancare is wrong, to do the same.

to that end, i just sent a contribution to Rep. Dave Brat who so far is standing for the right in this matter. i chose him because being in a dem district, he’s the closest avenue i have to representation on this issue.

i am praying that the President rethink his approach and come to the aid of those who want a true repeal.

Just out of HighSchool I was overseas in the Army. I then moved around a lot following jobs. When I finally settled down in 1996 I was in Colorado working within the GOP as a precinct captain.

I guess that there are many here on FR that don’t like hearing that Trump is not a conservative.

Dallas Texas 2006, during war time when Bush was spending multiple trillions in Iraq on a 10 year long, "Compassionate war, which helped loot the American treasure.

So emboldened by Republican Bush, 500,000 illegal aliens march on Dallas Texas pushing foreign flags in our faces and while making demands and threats. All while Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House each year. And this went on in all major cities. Did I mention during war time?

It seems you conservatives were content with this decade after decade as it was literally compromising and undermining our country including our very electoral process.

Ya didn’t notice both parties looted the American treasure, only growing government larger and larger, Did you fail to notice we have trade laws only our enemies globalist enemies love? Where you guys been for decades?
