Of course they will. Where does climate research money come from? What will happen to any “scientist” who actually analyzes data correctly and writes about it?
NPR is such a joke. And, of course, those loons are also sweating the fact that they just might have to actually earn a living by getting funds from folks who are willing to pay to listen to them.

Back then, advocates for the work saw public funding as ideal, because it would foster transparency, accountability and public trust. Which, of course, it did none of.

to fight global warming Oh Dear, they're using that word again.
After the East Anglia were exposed, they stopped using it and went to "climate change".
Guess they think we forgot.

Obviously these bold intervention scientists do not read history or, more likely, have egis so big they cannot possibly be wrong. Look at all the examples of knowingly importing a new species into an environment to control pests. And these guys want to do another mini ice age.

Climate Engineering, that's a win-win and a cushy income source.
If it works: Told Ya, but we need more.
If results are questionable: We need more.
If it Fails: We need MUCH more.

This is a big joke and scam; research money to liberal colleges on how to cool the planet with smoke and tin foil? Go Trump.

ANd the best part is that now you can be PROSECUTED AND THROWN IN PRISON for FRAUD when you Falsify your research using private investments.

Among those worrying and watching to see how the executive order plays out are scientists who actually are in favor of exploring bold interventions to artificially cool the climate.
...
What happens when there is mass starvation caused by crop failures due to their artificial cooling? Do they even know what the optimum temperature is?

Are these the same scientists who claim that carbon dioxide is a pollutant that needs to be regulated by the EPA?
My grades were rarely the best in class, but I'm pretty sure that biological science considers carbon dioxide to be essential to life on earth, not a pollutant.
As far as these 'settled scientists' are concerned, mocking, ridicule and public shaming are all too good for them, but we shouldn't let that stop us.
They've earned all of that and more.

Spending vast sums to develop pipe dreams for cooling the global climate when the global temperatures are in fact cooling is a colossal waste of taxpayer money. The ability for us to engineer our climate would be beyond the technology of Star Trek and as futile as King Canute commanding the tide to stop.

saw public funding as ideal, because it would foster transparency, accountability and public trust. Dr. Mann, what happened to the raw measurement data you processed to "prove" your temperature hockey stick graph which is the core of much of the global warming belief system? Did your dog eat it. So much for transparency, accountability and public trust.

Idiot academics who told us in the seventies that it was global cooling. Which actually is probably closer to accurate
They want to see what particles do then read about the year without a summer after Krakatoa blew. These fools need to study some real engineering
