Bruce Willis was a better Jackal.

I never got the answer to this question at the time. Did she change her married name to Mrs. The Jackal?

Quite a record she has there.... No wonder there’s an attraction.

Yes, and she's obviously good with being part of his harem. He gets conjugal visits, btw - I don't know if they let in both the wives, or if he has to make do with just one of them.

How sad for the French that they no longer operate Bagne de Cayenne.

He missed Charles De Gaulle by “thismuch”

DeGaulle credited the Citroën DS he was in for saving his life, and wouldn't even consider another vehicle for the rest of his life. The novel hydropneumatic suspension enabled it to keep going at speed, bullet-riddled with a tire gone. Cool cars, I've always admired them. So weird they're beautiful.

They were two different guys. There was a plot on De Gaulle's life in 1962, but it was a novelist who named the assassin the Jackal.

Carlos the Jackal came along in the 1970s and had very different politics (Marxist-Leninist, rather than French colonialist).

I guess we sort of know that already, but it can be confusing.
