The embattled House intelligence committee chairman, Devin Nunes, has said he had no choice under classification rules except to view sensitive documents at the White House, a statement likely to intensify speculation that the Trump administration fed Nunes the material.
*snip*
Nunes has dodged questions, primarily from CNN, that his source came from the White House, and intimated that whistleblowers from the intelligence agencies brought the surveillance documents to him. Nunes told Bloomberg View on Monday that his source was an intelligence official and not a White House staffer.
But Nunes office has acknowledged that the chairman viewed whatever surveillance documents he has acquired on the White House grounds, apparently at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where the National Security Council staff works.
Viewing the documents at the White House came under immediate scrutiny, since the House committee possesses secure facilities where it frequently accesses classified information as part of its routine responsibilities.
But Jack Langer, Nunes spokesman, told the Guardian that Nunes saw at the White House executive branch documents that Congress does not have.
Because of classification rules, the source could not simply put the documents in a backpack and walk them over to the House intelligence committee space. The White House grounds was the best location to safeguard the proper chain of custody and classification of these documents, so the chairman could view them in a legal way, Langer said.

The log files of who uncovered the NSA recordings must have been made available.
Oh boy! This is getting more interesting by the hour.
Not only is Devin Nunes a fellow Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
alum he is also a fellow former FFA (Future Farmers of
America) member which is the best youth leadership
organization in the nation in my opinion. He is more than
OK in my book.
Nope. Comey was there for a routine meeting, nothing more. Don’t trust that snake. He absolutely has no honor, honesty or credibility, and is definitely a Dem operative or stooge. I haven’t figured out yet if it’s operative or stooge, but either way he’s no friend to the American people or its current president.

If they had to be viewed at the EEOB, and not just stuffed into a briefcase, then maybe Comey didn’t do that.
But there -are- protocols for transporting classified docs (fill out forms as to destination, get permission from the security officer, double wrap it, etc), so Comey could have transported them.
Or someone in the White House got them to the EEOB, in similar fashion, for Nunes to view.
Thanks for the ping, lucyT !

Re-pinging; possible source of info about the spying...
Oh snap!
If it was left-behind & sec serv had it, that points to 0.
And 0 is on a island in Tahiti...
Remember back in the Obama administration how the media was on to every White House visit by every individual?
They were relentless!
Like a dog on a bone.
Like Moochie Obama on a 3 pound Kobe steak.
Like Barack chooming on a 10" Inch Blunt.
Ooops! - Never happened!
Yep I agree that it is most likely a secret service agent that was Nunes’s source. Seems most obvious to me.
The FBI is part of the Executive Branch, and they have the Montomery stuff...just sayin
Thanks wind. Passing on to Art in Idaho
I hadn’t thought of USSS Sure does sound right. They love DJT
Like Obama replaced all the computers in the WH.
Guess he missed one or two .....
In my lifetime of seeing the media in action, I have only ever seen Republicans “embattled” and conservative talk show hosts “controversial.” Strange. And when an old movie is described as “more important now than ever,” it’s always a leftist screed. Weird.
Nunes said an intelligence official was who he met with but he doesn't say what agency.
We have no way of knowing if these files were on a computer or printed out and in a briefcase. And of course, we don't know if the call originated from inside the EEOB or elsewhere.
This is more fun than a spy novel.
I hope they make it all public
(We’re adults we can handle it!)
Has highly partisan, Demonic-RAT Adam Schiff gone into orbit yet?
I can imagine him calling for Nunes’ resignation!
I hope Nunes doesn’t give an inch, no matter what!
I hope schiffty gets charged with obstruction of Justice or making false complaint or some other charge before this is complete
If you put < p > or < br > between tweets, it is much more readable. Taking out the blank spaces in the < > of course. copying twitter is a bit tricky.
Why was obama allowed to take all the computers from the White House and then had all new computers installed. I assume all the data and servers remained at the whitehouse since it’s government property.
Did Obama take evidence that he had been bugging / wire tapping Trump for a long time. Why has this information not come forward. I am sure Nunes and Gowdy are on top of it. But you wonder what the hell is going on in America.
Bump
