This will take some time to digest and I'm not yet convinced it is worth that process. It is written from an academic perspective. Shows a bias toward those who don't have higher education degree, and speaks of income redistribution as a policy to affect the higher death rate.
I skimmed it to the point where this was said:
“Our model for each outcome is then written as”
Followed by an equation filled with subscript and postscript making it difficult to accurately reproduce in HTML without resorting to embedding an image from appropriate publishing software.
It is one thing to study death rates and question why. It is quite another to decide to base policy decisions on an equation. And pretend to be empowered to dictate a solution.
Note: I have a degree, I respect it's value. I do not like the typical academic's perspective on how smart they are. I am more comfortable with business people who build things and do things.
