US President Donald Trump is expected to recognize thousands of new housing units in Judea and Samaria, and to approve the erection of a new town for Amona's expellees, reported Israel's Channel 2.
According to the reports, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will later agree to limit building in Judea and Samaria, while advancing building in the existing "settlement blocs."
However, Netanyahu's aides have said the report is inaccurate, and it is not clear how the Likud and Jewish Home parties will react to the final policy.
On Sunday, the White House and Israel published a joint readout announcing four days of discussions on the Israeli-Arab conflict.
"The issues the two delegations discussed are exceptionally complicated, and the fact that both governments dedicated such senior delegations for nearly a full week of talks reflects the close cooperation between the two countries and the importance both assign to this vital task," the readout said.
"The Israelis welcomed United States interest in continuing to play a facilitating role in advancing issues regarding electricity and water in ways that will benefit both Israel and the Palestinians and also move the Palestinians toward self-sustainability in these crucial areas.
"Following up on discussions Mr. Greenblatt had in Ramallah last week, the two sides agreed on the importance of implementing measures benefiting the people of Gaza.
"The two delegations also discussed Israeli settlement construction, following up on Prime Minister Netanyahus visit to Washington and Mr. Greenblatts recent visit to Israel. The United States delegation reiterated President Trumps concerns regarding settlement activity in the context of moving towards a peace agreement.
"The Israeli delegation made clear that Israels intent going forward is to adopt a policy regarding settlement activity that takes those concerns into consideration. The talks were serious and constructive, and they are ongoing,"...

one gets SO Damned TIRED of watching Bibi and the Israeli government in Jerusalem continue, day and week and year after year, all this “BEGGING every possible foreigner in sight FOR PERISSION”.... to do what? just build homes for Israel’s citizens so they can raise their children decently with roofs over their heads like any other people on earth wish to do?
Bibi, stop all the begging and just reBUILD your nation...
you want respect? act like a grown up and build (or let your people build, rather) ..as others have posted here and elsewhere, Bibi please get over your slave mentality and stop doing the enemy’s hob for them...just Build the needed homes for your people already.
I agree. The best the US can do is get out of the way. Israel is more than capable of defending themselves.
Good news.
I was on a mission trip back in November that included over a week in Israel. Spent time with people “on the street” in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and several places in-between - covering everything from zones under the 100% control of the Palestinian Authority, partial control, and those still completely under Israeli control. What I found was rather eye-opening:
In the people we visited with, it was actually hard to find an “average Joe” Palestinian who was wrapped up in the whole Palestinian/Israel fight. The majority of the folks we visited with were far more like “us” than the media and our politicians would have us believe. They just want to be free to raise their children and have their businesses. What I found really interesting was that most of those Palestinians were “marginal” in their muslim faith (more of a social/ritualistic religion, not a way of life). Many were far more American-like than what I had expected.
I came away with the impression that the loud, terrorist, “Palestinian State” rabble-rousers are the minority. But that’s the problem - the loud minority are extremely radical and are the same ones that hold the rest in fear - and have a very receptive ear from the word’s media.
They have killed at least 29,000 Israelis and counting. They’ve slaughtered more innocent people around the world. ( “Peaceful” ones need to move back to their own countries since they won’t stop the “palestinian” twrrorists from more threats (over 100,000 bombs, etc), murders, and mayhem. The murder gangsters like PLO -pa fatah hezbellah hamas, Muslim bros, isis, al qaida and all the rest need to be sent directly to alluh in HELL imho and asap. Drain the moslem mass murder swamp!
I believe you missed the point of my post - and also the reality of the situation. Have "Palestinians" killed a lot of folks (primarily Israelis, though they have a long-standing reputation in the region of trying to overthrown whatever country they are currently living in - This is why none of their neighbors want them).
And that leads to the fact that they don't have a country to "go back to".
And as a Christian and a pastor, my heart cries out for their salvation - as Jesus Christ is the ONLY answer. And while I completely understand genuine war against terrorists and would not suggest Israel roll over - they have a genuine right to defend themselves by whatever means are necessary - I cry for the eternity that faces those who die for their false (satanic) faith.
But I also know that there is a hope for a lot of "Muslims" who's faith isn't really genuine or unshakable - and who present a very real opportunity for the Gospel. And I most certainly don't like it when lives are lost by people who have nothing to do with the violence we see (and who often are caught in the crossfire, or even the oppressive hands of violent Muslims).
I have similar, though more limited, experience. The media also ignores very big differences between Palis on a tribal/clan basis, with some tribes deeply hostile and others easy-going and friendly.
Glad I’m not alone. And yes, the tribal mentality among Arabic speakers is a major factor in their actions.
That’s racist!/s
