Actually, while your post may have been intended as satire, it makes some excellent points. Make all the elites live under the same rules the rest of us do - no exceptions. Then watch them scream.
Hey Ray.. I’m new here and want to be active in the process.
in light of events since the president took office it looks more and more like the stall tactics and confounding the president’s plans will continue at this same pace until the corrupt uniparty can be reduced or eliminated. To that end I see voter ID laws and monitoring, as well as term limits a real necessity. As I cannot open new topics yet, I would like to see views on this from established members here. Any help would be appreciated.
Can’t the senate start a version, vote for it and send to house? I know typically everything starts in the house, but I seem to remember the senate starting a bill from time to time.
I see a lot of people who don’t get it.
All these suggestions are a waste of time.
Republicans won’t repeal or replace O-care because they
DON’T WANT TO REPEAL OR REPLACE IT AND IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
WAKE UP.
The self serving, exempt from their own legislation, political hack lifer dogs, and the globalist lords, win again.
Agree with what you said & well said.
Straight forward repeal without any attachments, riders or addendums is the answer.
I agree.
The bill was far from perfect but it was a big step toward free market health care.
Now what do we have? Can a Rand Paul bill pass anything?
No, I oppose those parts of the bill and quite a few others.
Here is a comment from the Gipper that I think is appropriate:
“When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didnt like it. Compromise was a dirty word to them and they wouldnt face the fact that we couldnt get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you dont get it all, some said, dont take anything.
Id learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.
If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and thats what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.”
Compromise is only favorable if in moves in your direction.
Bottom line, compromise is not an objective.
Thank you. I agree. The establishment revealed themselves to be a bunch of phony liars, having passed repeal bills that they knew would be vetoed and now telling us they can’t do that now. BS. Repeal with a transition, and if Republicans are soooooo scared of the NYT that they have to have some welfare state bullcrap continue, then by all means, they have time to pass a 26 year olds bill or a preexisting conditions bill before the repeal takes effect. If Democrats love those things, it should pass without the Freedom Caucus. And if Dems vote against it after repeal, they will be the ones denying goodies to people, not us.
I don’t see how the bill could be construed as legislation that would have moved Obamacare further to the left.
You’d really rather have Obamacare?
I’ve listened to Paul explain his plan and it makes more sense than anything else I have heard proposed. He calls for a complete repeal of Obamacare. He wants all those who have to buy insurance on their own to be able to join large groups that would have bargaining power with insurers. And these plans would be purchased with pre-tax dollars to even the playing field. Such a plan helps solve the problem of pre-existing conditions.
Yup, based on current knowledge of Rand Paul’s and Meadows, assessments and positions, those two seem to be on target.
.
OK, I'll concede that the all or nothing fallacy is not very appropriate for a compromiser.
No. The democrats will surely be back in power by then and will be itching to pass single-payer. As much as I may despise them, they at least seem able to unify long enough to get their agenda shoved through.
Remember, the Republicans were swept into power based on the promise that they would repeal Obamacare. If they don’t get it done by 2018, they’re toast. Surely they must realize this?
