The money sent into neighborhoods to assist the “needy” is astronomical. Think about the numerous private organizations, churches, corporations, and individuals that contribute to those who require assistance; then add all the government agencies with all the redundancy emanating from the stupid laws our congress enacts. The dollars are mind-boggling, yet we are made to feel guilty because we aren't doing enough. The worst culprit is the “church.” Way over the top regarding this issue. Has anyone ever attempted a study of the total dollars spent?

I tried once, but stopped at $2,219,986,132.52—that was just for Chicago in 2008.
