Weeks or months before claiming the Russians hacked the election, the Democrats telegraphed their punch by claiming the Russians were likely to hack the election.

They probably hoped the Ruskies would take the hint, but in any case they were planning their attack in full public view in case the Russians fell through. Even the MSM dutifully reported the whole affair to try to make sure the idea was firmly planted in the collective American brain pan.

Any attempts to check that votes were counted accurately were met with the usual Democratic skepticism and claims of voter disfranchisement.
