A Southern California brewery has successfully tested a beer using treated sewage water.
Stone Brewing, a large craft brewing operation headquartered in Escondido, presented its Full Circle Pale Ale to curious customers at an event Thursday in San Diego.
The new ale is made using recycled, treated sewage water and is part of San Diego's plan, 'Pure Water San Diego,' to get a third of its water from recycled sources by 2021.
And the verdict for the brew, which some have dubbed 'toilet to tap,' seemed to be quite positive, SF Gate reported.

LOL!
Your post is accurate and your tag line is unintentionally hilarious!
Why would a Brewery let it be known that their beer is made with recycled sewage water? It’s a kiss of death for all their locations.
Did the city there offer them free land and tax exemption for 30 years or some other incentives?
I thought Bud 3.2 was the only beer made out of used toilet water?
It’s surprising how many things can’t be, or simply aren’t tested for or removed. Many of the medicinal drugs, for example. The treatment people can’t tell you what gets left behind with a straight face

These reports of sewage from Tijuana are rather old news. Back in the Clinton administration, San Diego reached an agreement with Tijuana to provide funds to help them upgrade their sewage treatment systems to avoid these issues. The EPA sued to block this agreement because they felt that reducing the flow of sewage into the Tijuana river would have adverse impacts upon the bacteria in the river which was dependent upon the sewage for nutrients. The EPA later dropped the suit due to adverse publicity. This was reported in the WSJ in the early 90s.
.
They wouldn’t tell you if they knew.
Are these the guys who make Arrogant Bastard Ale? That’s my favorite beer.
