Yup. Already on NBC News’s web page:

But this Sunday on “Meet The Press,” Schiff, D-Calif., told host Chuck Todd, “I was surprised to see Director Clapper say that (there is no evidence of a Russian connection) because I don’t think you can make that claim categorically as he did. I would characterize it this way at the outset of the investigation: there is circumstantial evidence of collusion. There is direct evidence I think of deception and that’s where we begin the investigation.”

Hawaii judge places restraining order on Trump EO involving refugee pause
Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 16, 2017
Unless I find a definitive article about what exactly the judge in Hawaii ruled on the Trump Executive Order in the next couple of hours (I have a doc appt.), here is one news story from the AP (thanks to reader Theodore).

Also, according to several news sources discussing other pending cases, including Fox News , one argument in the Maryland case is absolutely nuts. I worry that judges ruling on the cases have no idea about what the US Refugee Act of 1980 says or how the program has been administered for 37 years!

Judge Derrick Watson. Photo and story “One Unelected Leftist Judge in Hawaii Decided Security for the Entire Nation” http://www.independentsentinel.com/one-unelected-leftist-judge-hawaii-decided-security-entire-nation/
It makes me want to scream!

The line that I see while searching just now, that is being spread by many news sources, is this one:

“The Maryland lawsuit also argues that it’s against federal law for the Trump administration to reduce the number of refugees allowed into the United States this year by more than half, from 110,000 to 50,000. Attorneys argued that if that aspect of the ban takes effect, 60,000 people would be stranded in war-torn countries with nowhere else to go.”

We are assuming that comes from the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society suit we reported here. The true gist of their argument is that they, the federal resettlement contractors, were expecting more paying “clients” and had built their budgets around the per head payment they were expecting with the unrealistic 110,000 refugees Obama said would come in the year he no longer was president!

For the umpteenth time, that 110,000 that Obama set last fall is a CEILING that the Administration says it will not surpass, it is not a goal!

And, that 110,000 was the highest Obama had ever set in his presidency. Trump has the absolute authority to reduce the ceiling, but more importantly he can bring in any number under whatever he set, or whatever Obama set!

Forget the EO!
President Trump has all the authority he needs to not import any more refugees this entire year (I’m not sure that his team even knows that he has no legal obligation to bring in even 50,000!).

As of this morning, we have admitted 38,106 refugees this fiscal year (2017) via Wrapsnet. 783 refugees arrived in the ten day period from the announcement of this EO and today when the “moratorium” was to go in to effect.

I repeat! The President does not have to call it a moratorium or include it in this EO. He can simply stop processing new refugees abroad with no further explanation!

President George W. Bush had 4 years under 50,000! His lowest year was 39,554. Even Obama had two years under 60,000 and well below the ceiling! See here.

Now look at this chart (below) very carefully. When I found it at Wrapsnet, the last year, 2016, was not complete. Know that we brought in just short of the 85,000 ceiling (a rare occurrence).

The federal refugee resettlement contractors have long wanted the president’s ‘determination’ each year to be a GOAL (a target) not a CEILING! But, the law says it is a ceiling. Look at the column for CEILING and the column for the number actually admitted!

What do you see? Rarely does the number admitted reach the CEILING.

In FY2006, they were 28,777 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue the President?

In FY2007, they were 21,718 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue the President?

In FY2008, they were 19,809 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue the President?

In FY2009, they were 5,346 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue the President?

In FY2010, they were 6,689 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue the President?

In FY2011, they were 23,576 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue President Obama?

In FY2012, they were 17,762 below the CEILING. Did anyone sue President Obama for leaving thousands “stranded in war-torn countries”?

Obama got closer to the lowered CEILING over the next few years.

You get my drift!

Be sure to note that Obama never set a ceiling as high as 110,000 in all his previous years as president. That 110,000 was set in the final months of his final year! The average admissions over the years shown here is around 65,000. I could not find the chart that includes the last month of FY16, but we admitted only a few refugees short of the 85,000 ceiling because the Administration was hell-bent to get in thousands of Syrians.

I’m begging ignorant and lazy reporters to get the facts!

And, I am sure you are scared as heck, as I am, to see judges making decisions based on sheer ignorance of the law.

See my post from last Friday about how Hawaii hypocrites! have “welcomed” only a tiny number of refugees over the years—none from Africa and only 5 (total) from two Muslim countries.

This post is filed in our Trump Watch! category as well as ‘refugee statistics’ and ‘where to find information.’

Ann, have you sent any of your fantastic research to the White House? Any way to get it to the right people there? Or at DOJ? Or State? Just curious, they all could learn a lot from you.

Regards,
Jennifer

It’s all so silly and unfounded. There are no refugees stranded in war torn countries waiting to be airlifted to the U.S. The refugees are in places of refuge and have agreed to doing the U.S. the tremendous favor of RESETTLING here. Why is it a favor to us? Don’t you know we are dying for more diversity and cannot function or consider ourselves good people without it. If the refugee resettlement contractors are unable to resettle them here, they can stay in the place of refuge that the U.N. has provided for them with our money (or at least mostly with our money).”

I’m surprised that Hawaii, with her history of being forcibly colonized and taken over, would even insinuate that accepting foreigners is a good thing. Maybe that’s what this is, just a form of tokenism to keep up with the liberals, but, with no real conviction behind it.

“Attorneys argued that if that aspect of the ban takes effect, 60,000 people would be stranded in war-torn countries with nowhere else to go.” So these attorneys decided it was a good idea to make sure they are our problem now? who is paying these guys anyways, George Soros? there are wars all over the world all the time, and they will not stop, ever. Do these attorneys think we should just keep letting these people in forever?

Wallace slipped in every American has a Right to healthcare

If everyone has the "right" to healthcare, then it follows that someone must be FORCED to provide it. As a result, "quality healthcare" will cease to exist for most.

Turns out your buddy Wallace’s claim Meals on Wheels was cut from the budget was fake

The Media spread that "fake news" far and wide. People hear it from their local propaganda outlet and they believe it, true or not.

Every American ALREADY has a right to healthcare.

There’s not a hospital in the country that would refuse to help a sick or injured person, no matter that they had no money or insurance. They WILL be treated.

Now, does every American have the right to Health Insurance? Because they shouldn’t. I mean think about it, it is mind-boggling!

Health insurance had deductibles. Make Health Insurance a “right” and the next thing you know, those deductibles rise. And rise. And rise.

Now we have some plans with a $10,000 deductible. It is much worse than before!

All Obamacare, and now Ryancare, is a scam to feed $$$ to the insurance companies. When government mandates the highest their insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare) will cover for any given procedure, that becomes the price for that procedure.

If you could individually negotiate that price, things would be a lot better for everyone. Bring back pay as you go. It will be a lot cheaper in the end.

Obamacare forced everyone to buy essentially one plan. Single men had to purchase plans with maternity benefits. Tailoring each plan to the needs of the individual should increase the number of insured and lower costs.

Even with Obamacare, we still have over 30 million uninsured. I wonder why no one is bringing this up.

I think it's possible to use the tax code to pay for a lot of it if not all of the rest of the 10% that can't pay for their own insurance.

Ding ding ding!

That's another important cogwheel in the reform-machine...the privatization of MediCaid.

They talk about "block grants to the states to administer their version of MediCaid. The ultimate efficiency is to require all state carriers to participate, and provide the same "MediCaid-product".

It's much less expensive for the state to support subsidized premiums (rather than directly paying claims)

States should have a "means tested" method, where the participants are required to pay something. There should be a sliding scale subsidy for various income levels, from almost complete support for the truly needy, to almost zero (full price) for those that may not have an employer plan available.

Additionally, patients would also be required to have a co-pay (just like everyone else) to avoid the main issue in provider abuse....over-utilization.

Of course this coverage, would not be as quite good as that offered out in the free market. Coupled with the many competing plans of affordable premium insurance, it would encourage former medical-welfare recipients to enter the private marketplace, and further enhance the "health" of both the group and the individual markets.

Thanks for posting the article from this link
https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2017/03/16/hawaii-judge-places-restraining-order-on-trump-eo-involving-refugee-pause/

A great resource is the link below - the author is Ann Corcoran.
https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/

From her post here she has added a new sidebar widget: Refugee Admission numbers for FY17.

RRW Weekly round-up for week ending March 17, 2017

https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2017/03/19/rrw-weekly-round-up-for-week-ending-march-17-2017/

BTW, I’ve added a new sidebar widget: Refugee Admission numbers for FY17.
Fiscal year 2017 runs from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. As you know Donald Trump has set the CEILING at 50,000 for the year. As of the March 16th, the day Trump’s 120-day moratorium on resettlement was to go into effect, we were at 38,106.
The Hawaii judge placed, illegally in my opinion, a restraining order on the refugee ceiling portion of the order. So, I will track the numbers every few days (assuming Wrapsnet is working) and post the latest number in the right hand sidebar.

If you tweet, send info to Ann at https://twitter.com/RefugeeWatcher

The government says that, but they are liars. They are not offering everyone health care, but rather making everyone get Health Insurance.

Your health care is a moving target. Some people get exceptional health care, others get crap (VA, for example). I think it would be cheaper in the long run if the government got out of heath insurance racket, and just came up with a public health service corps of volunteers the poor could go to.

Imagine if they could break the medical associations’ guild limits on who can be a doctor, and offered to pay people who want to be a doctor’s education costs, with the stipulation they work five years for the health service corps.

And don’t get me started on tort reform!

I’m so tired of seeing those commercials by lawyers (pronounced “liars”) about suing for various medical devices.

Yeah, blood clot screens can cause damage in the long run, we get it. The doctors should have just let the clot go to your brain or lungs and straight out kill you!

They lawyers get rich, the people actually affected get very little, and the rest of us see our medical costs skyrocket.

Henry The Sixth, Part 2 Act 4, scene 2, 71–78: “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers!”

It's a marvel to see how liberal convictions are so fungible. LOL. Actually, they kinda' sorta admitted Republicans were right. Dems now plan the same, so we'll see it backfire because Right is right, wrong is wrong.

The Ivanka Trump connection to Wendi Deng and her alleged relationship to Putin is all part of the fake news to connect the dots between the Russians and Donald Trump. The fact that people are gullible enough to believe it shows the power of the MSM to manufacture a phony narrative and have it morph into to some kind of "fact." It is the same way that we now have to investigate collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians. No facts to substantiate it, but the seriousness of the charge has a life of its own.

Elided from the breathless rumors was any sort of background. Deng and Ivanka Trump are longtime pals, as evidenced by a 2014 Daily Mail article (which antedated Trump’s announcement of his candidacy by more than a year) that pictured them together and described the pair as “close friends”:

[T]he pair are indeed close friends and spent most of the evening chatting to each other.

Ivanka had close ties with Wendi when she was married to publisher Rupert, even joining them for a trip to Jordan to meet with Queen Rania in 2011.

Mrs. Murdoch initially found out about Art.sy the way wealthy and well-connected people hear about potential investments: through a friend. The friend was Joshua Kushner, who runs the private equity firm Thrive Capital and whose sister-in-law, Ivanka Trump, is a close friend of Mrs. Murdoch’s.

The Murdochs briefly occupied a nearby condo in the Trump Park Avenue building, where Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump live. Grace and Chloe speak Mandarin to Ms. Trump’s young daughter, Arabella, and the Murdoch women regularly attend Ms. Trump’s Sabbath dinners. (“She loves the challah,” Ms. Trump said of Mrs. Murdoch. “She calls it ‘that bread.’ ”)

Ivanka Trump’s friendship with Wendi Deng dates back to at least 2011, as numerous media reports attest. Although Deng was rumored in March 2016 to be dating Putin, those rumors were not confirmed, and in July 2016 Deng denied ever having met him.

Several politicized accounts of Trump and Deng vacationing together elided mention of their long friendship and highlighted Deng’s new, rumored links to Putin, creating the impression that Ivanka Trump was schmoozing with a random woman linked to the Russian leader. In fact, that woman is famous in her own right and is a longtime acquaintance of Ivanka Trump.

I just wonder if anyone on the committee tomorrow will actually bring up the “wiretapped” conversations Trump had in the White House with leaders of Mexico and Australia.

Interesting point. I assume the WH routinely tapes such conversations and produces a written transcript for the President's use only. The issue is how such transcripts or notes ever got out to the public.
