The Trump administration and House GOP leaders are eyeing three possible changes to their ObamaCare repeal-and-replace bill as they seek the votes to pass it through the House.
The White House on Friday won support from key conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC) members by agreeing to give states the option to impose work requirements on Medicaid recipients and the option to block grant Medicaid instead of the cap system in the bill, GOP sources said.
Separately on Friday, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price privately told House Republicans in a closed-door meeting that changes could include alterations to tax credits and the optional Medicaid work requirements.
Changes to the tax credits, optional Medicaid block grants, and Medicaid work requirements have risen to the top of changes that House Republicans are discussing to change their bill as they try to round up 216 GOP votes.
"The Speaker said this a minute ago, he didn't say the specifics of it, but he said that some tweaks will be made to the tax credits and probably that's the older -- old geezers like me that are 55 and up," said Rep. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), leaving a House GOP conference meeting Friday morning.
But the far-right Freedom Caucus still has strong objections to the bill. Its chairman, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), took issue with work requirements being optional, saying that provision only moves the ball "a couple of yards" down a very large field.
Centrist Republicans have been pushing for changes to the tax credits in the GOP bill so that they would give more financial help to low-income people and older people, who they worry would not be given enough help to afford coverage under the current bill.

I don’t want changes to Obamacare. I want Obamacare gone with no replacement.
I want to return to a free market system.
The “ObamaCare repeal-and-replace bill” does neither.
It amends ACA. It tinkers around the edges with a promise of later repeal. The usual Republican BS.
So does The Hill ever describe Nancy Pelosi or the Black Caucus as the "far-left"?
Never, but they are farther far left than the Freedom Caucus is far right.
Fortunately I am represented by Dave Brat.
I don’t have to call or send angry e-mails.
This isn’t even close to repeal.
It’s rearranging.
Just kill it. Kill it dead. Kill it with fire!

“Far-right.” Because freedom is so “extreme.”
There might be another way, possibly the way President Trump plans to go: agree to some things that the `rats insist upon. Then all of Obamacare is repealed and replaced.
(Keep in mind the immense power of the bureaucracy.)
Then, a la Obama—those portions we like are enforced and administrators are instructed to ignore the abominable parts. Remember that President Trump is now running things.
Yeah, it sounds devious but remember who we’re dealing with: `RATs! Obamacare: Mandates. Penalties. Unaffordable. No choice. Socialist: `From each according to his ability ... ‘
The important thing is to repeal the Affordable Care act in toto. The problem with this solution is that `rats are quick to squeal to the courts.
Use the Cruz missile option. Bring in Pence as President of the Senate and cram it down the bloody demonrat throats. Like they did to us.
It would likely fail but it would force the RINO’s to take a stand. The scum.
“conservative Republican Study Committee “
LOL!
They’ve not been conservative for almost a generation. They are the true ‘moderates’ of the House.

And that is the one thing the Uniparty eunuchs will never do.
They are the attendants of Fedzilla and will not vote to reduce Fedzilla’s power.
Anybody that doesn’t think the pre-existing conditions and no lifetime limits provisions are socialism is just plain stupid.
Anybody that believes those provisions will not be in any bill with a chance to pass is equally stupid.
So it is Obamacare 2.0 plus Ryan’s long wished for Medicaid reform.
Might be nice to send him some encouragement, however.
