A long read but, I think a very interesting one for those fascinated by history and tradition. I had some slight involvement in earlier versions of this plan about twenty years ago when I was a Royal Australian Navy officer serving on exchange in the UK (if it had happened then, the Australian High Commission would have needed to pull all of us in to handle a suddenly greatly increased ceremonial workload so we were briefed), but I don't think I've seen as detailed a description as this one before. It looks very well researched.

Long overdue for the inbred monarchy to die out. Queen Elizabeth, as regards the UK, has stood by and watched her kingdom die. Now in her last days she gets to watch the Islamic hordes overrun her once great country. What a shame.

"Long overdue for the inbred monarchy to die out." Hey Queenie, don't spend any time in The Netherlands!
Close your eyes there an the Docs will give you the blue syringe. Charles might even volunteer to hold you down.

I understand - but it is very well research despite it being from The Grauniad.

What kind of name is Huw Thomas? Did the article mean to say Hew Thomas?

As the article itself points out, King George V was euthanized by his doctor. It’s not even a secret. The rules seem to be different in such cases. It only hastened his death by a few hours, but for those who believe in the absolute sanctity of life it is still quite chilling. Especially given the reason was primarily to ensure the news would appear in the quality morning newspapers, rather than the evening tabloids.

The BBC always meets their deadline.
But her kingdom is in turmoil
If only she had not signed that Abortion Act or Marriage Equality Act among other bad laws. Its a leftist canard to claim that exercising her royal prerogative in defense of the kingdom against Satanic leftism in acts of Parliament would result in a revolt against the monarchy.

The Queen is nearly 91 - but to the best of my knowledge, her health is good for that age, and there’s no current special concerns. The author would have likely been working on this story for at least a year, given the access he would have needed to the people interviewed.

One really weird thought I’ve had would be the cost for simple things. For instance having to change everything emblazoned with the Crown would have to be changed from “ER” (Elizabeth Regina) to “CR” (Charles Rex). Stationery, mailboxes, phone booths, civilian and military uniform items, seals, identification, official documents, etc. How much would that cost?

It’s done gradually as they need replacing, not instantly in most cases. So most of the costs are simply normal routine ones.
