Traditional Hungarian jacket - derived from the dolman, the modern version of which was variously known as an “Attila”. Its a standard uniform element of European light cavalry of every country - including, say, Britain, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden - into the 20th century.

Yes, that is where I saw it. It was worn by male members of a Hungarian folk group that came to Folkmoot in the late 80s. It is indeed a traditional Hungarian jacket. It is not a Hungarian Nazi collaborator's jacket. What an ignorant woman Michelle Goldberg must be. She is impugning the culture of an entire country.

I don’t understand “collaborator” here.

Hungary openly fought on their side —the decision was made for the ENTIRE country.

It seems the author is imposing the WW2 history of Vichy France on Hungary.

The only prominent Hungarian collaborator I know of is George Soros, and that moniker can be imposed on him only insofar as his role vis-a-vis Jews in Hungary is concerned:

He betrayed them.
