I know the place too. I used to live in Tiburon - live nearby now - but am in Tiburon weekly. Here in Marin, only 15% voted for Trump and probably even fewer than that did in Tiburon. If you say anything at all around here remotely conservative - or heavens, even mention Fox News - you’re met with eye rolls. I used to know several on the Tiburon police force, but they’ve all retired or moved elsewhere (to more affordable places to live), so I don’t know any of the new guys. If what took place is at all as the story describes, I hope there’s an arrest forthcoming.
I live in one of the strongest Maoist strongholds in the nation (carried by Princess Liawatha by something like 80-20) and although I've never been assaulted I routinely have bumper stickers ripped from my car and,curiously,they *always* key the car at the same time.Most recently I had a Trump sticker removed and they let the air out of two of my tires at the same time.I've replaced the sticker (I stocked up on them last fall anticipating that I'd need many) but next time I expect they'll *puncture* my tires rather than just let the air out.
