President Trump signed a new executive order Monday instructing federal government agencies to cut duplicative and unnecessary programs across the board. The order is intended to "improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability of the executive branch."
This order requires a thorough examination of every executive department and agency to see where money is being wasted, how services can be improved and whether programs are truly serving American citizens, Trump said at the White House. Based on this input, we will develop a detailed plan to make the federal government work better, reorganizing, consolidating and eliminating where necessary. In other words, making the federal government more efficient and very, very cost productive. So were going to do something, I think, very, very special.

And this is bad because of why???
And this is bad because of why???
This one act is doing more to actually shrink government than the 3 useless terms of the Bush crowd.
Millions upon millions of unelected career bureaucrats, paper shufflers, and self-important mucketymucks are all soiling their linen.
The size and scope of the federal government has never gotten smaller in my lifetime. We shall see if this makes an iota of difference, but it is certainly a move in the right direction.
Yes, I do.
The basic story of a The Pilgrim’s Regress shares some themes with Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress but is also different because of the times in which it was written. I’ll not spoil plot twists by saing more.
Of a Lewis’ other works I see less relation between it and the Screwtape Letters than it may bear to other works like The Abolition of Man (which may have only minor relationship).
The Abolition of Man, BTW, has influenced some of my own writing.
Since you’re mentioning reading ... and what follows is free....
I’ve written a series of fan fictions which I’ll give links to hereafter. Just in case. These may not be obviously related to The Abolition of Man, but in their subtext they are. Their story structure of the two books is boy-meets-world and intentionally suffers from what I call “tyranny of experience”, the third link has far more experienced cast and therefore does not have this feature, as indeed the still unfinished third book with the same main character as the first two doesn’t, said character being older).

I’m mostly into sci fi. In fact I’m just starting on my first Heinlein book. But I’ll save this for future reference. Thanks!
I hope they especially keep those workers who are very loyal to the upward success of America, and not disloyal to those in charge.
And those who are disloyal, well, they might be on a train out of town, and hopefully on to a really better future life.
