What do their Muslim imports think of Marx?
Sad. Very very sad to see Europe so decayed.
He was born in Trier, Germany? So I guess this city would be the equivalent of Mecca for liberals?
While stationed in Germany (mid 60’s), I visited Trier once, even scratched my initials on the wall of the Porta Nigra.
Didn’t know Marx was from Trier. I’ve been there a few times. The Porta Nigra is beautiful. The roman baths and an actual gladiator coliseum is worth visiting also. It’s on the border with France and has a very French feel to the city...
Are there replicas of the furniture he sold that belonged to the landlord of his rented flat? What a POS.
I too visited Trier several times during my Army tours in Germany. The house where he was born/lived is marked with a small plaque. I liked to stay in one of the hotels that was across from the Porta Nigra. And I did NOT scratch my initials on it. The Roman amphitheater and baths are still there and are worth a visit. Also the city is on the route the German 7th Army took to invade Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge.
I was at Hahn AB, only about 30 miles from Trier, so, never stayed in the hotels. BTW, the wall where I scratched my initials was so cluttered with “scratched initials” I could barely find a blank spot for mine.
Trier’s origin is very interesting. There is a tradition that the city was founded by one Trebeta, named as a son of none other than Ninus, or the Biblical Nimrod. That would make it a western outpost of the Assyrian domain.
