I also am skeptical about the story. 150 firearms over 4 years is a very small number. I was a bit surprised to read about firearms shipped by train to begin with. The article indicates these are dealer shipments. And seems to imply it's an ongoing problem. They note
In one instance, thieves stole more than 100 new Ruger handguns . I can believe that, but that leaves only 50 more firearms over 4 years. Small shipments. Someone with more knowledge of transportation might be able to help, but my assumption was that small shipments like this normally would be made by truck. Even 100 handguns with packaging probably doesn't weigh more than 600 or 700 pounds. I'm surprised a shipment that size finds it's way onto a freight car.
I am glad no one made the mandatory call for more gun control.

I was down at my friendly neighborhood gun store this afternoon when they took delivery of some guns from FedEx.
