I also noticed none of arafats kin blew themselves up for the cause. His wife now has millions if not billions while she lives it up on the French Riviera.
Trump gave him a chance to visit the WH, to hear the offer on the table, and remined that this constituted the best Deal he was going to see in a Trump presidency. Either Abbas takes the Deal or he is screwed with loss of US monies, UN monies, etc. Abbas was probably told by Trump that he is responsible for his two terror-tories peace and security, and that if it came down to another war with Israel that the US would join Israel. A gentle reminder on the rule of land warfare is all that Abbas needs to be told, e.g., that if they start a war and lose it, they lose their land and the leadership who created the conflict.
How about starting simple....
Israel wants nothing from Gaza that they don’t already have.
Make Gaza an independent state. Most of the hard core radicals are there, good riddance, get them off the table.
They seldom agree with the W Bank Palestinians anyway and are essentially self-governing.
Let there be a three state solution with the W Bank choosing to legalize the internal partition that is already a reality.
That’s what statesmen do, they recognize reality, want peace, and self determination within a coherent boundary.
