I never met an “educator” who didn’t whine about how underpaid and overworked they were. What an absolute crock.
Assuming that figure is somewhat factual and not made up, might be one of the reasons for not being able to attract new hires. $48K isn't a lot of money for most areas of California. Granted their salaries probably ramp up over a period of time, but they not be able or willing to tough it out until they hit the jackpot.
