Garbage, building materials, and months of untreated human waste from thousands of Standing Rock squatters now threatens the very water they claimed to be protecting.
After half a year, hundreds of arrests, and thousands of headlines, the protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline has drawn to an end at the Standing Rock site. On February 22, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum forced an evacuation of the protestors camps. The government needed time to clean the environmental mess the environmentalists left behind.
That paradoxical reality underscores many of the problems with efforts that claim to solve potential problems. In the end, this lengthy protest accomplished none of its stated goals, cost millions on both sides, and left the area in crisis thanks to the very sorts who claimed to be there as a form of protection.
Instigated by resistance and lawsuits brought forth by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, protesters descended on the flats of the Cannonball River plain and encamped to resist the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The tribe has been in court battling Army Corps of Engineers over the pipeline. Tribal elders resisted despite the dubious merit of complaints this construction would violate sacred tribal lands and threaten their water supply, even though numerous other pipelines already run through these lands.
The tribe may have been actually just haggling over compensation. The Washington Examiner reported that during talks with the group representing the pipeline constructionEnergy Transfer Partnersthe tribe had been given a number of offers. Addressing concerns cited, ETP pledged water monitoring systems and pipeline emergency support.
These offers were not accepted: time and again the tribe rebuffed or ignored the companys offers demanding, instead, a toll on the crude that passed through the pipeline, an ultimatum that showed the tribes true desire easy money.

Why don’t they just open a casino there?
Not a story we will see covered by the Big Lie Media.
To see who are actually good and sincere stewards of the environment, just compare the sites after a large event has been held. One hundred tons of garbage was left behind the on the Capital Mall after Obama was inauguration. The mall was not left a mess after the Trump inauguration. The next day the women protesters left tons of garbage again. Why is it that leftists cannot pick up after themselves?
Seems that no matter where Libs congregate in large groups the leave a mess for someone else to clean up.
They are PIGS
You can see video on YouTube. Hundreds of dump trucks of trash.
Also a little mentioned fact is that none of the pipeline is on Indian land. Oh and this new pipeline is going to be built right next to an ALREADY EXISTING PIPELINE.
Meanwhile if Conservatives meet at a certain place to protest you will often find it cleaner than it was originally.
Meanwhile if Conservatives meet at a certain place to protest you will often find it cleaner than it was originally after they leave.
There is a casino. The protest practically destroyed it because it shut down the road between Bismarck/Mandan and the casino.
The irony is lost on liberal enviro extremists, that their protests about environmental damage left behind an environmental mess. And they left it for someone else to clean up.........as if they are entitled spoiled brats......
At sentencing, the penalty is “community service” = each offender will collect and deliver to the proper ‘dump’. ‘X’ number of truckloads of above mentioned ‘crap’.
It also seems to me that somebody with deep pockets (Soros?) was paying for it. Hippie wanna-be college kids don’t leave behind their own sleeping bags and tents.
But they felt good about “doing something”.
I guess now they’re taking their freak show to Washington D.C. to dump all their “sacred” garbage up on the mall. These maggots need their asses kicked.
because with the left it is all about some one else being at fault not taking responsibility for your self.
“Green” is the new “pollution.”
