Journalists Complain They Are Not Traveling With Secretary Tillerson…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | March 10, 2017 | Sundance

State Department Journalists are some of the most tender snowflakes in Washington DC. The latest outrage du jour is reporters complaining they are not allowed to fly with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to Asia.

There’s no-one stopping the reporters from flying to Asia and covering T-Rex’s visit. The entire complaint is that they don’t get to fly on his airplane.

Who does the State Department run to when they need to voice their alarm,…. well, that would be CNN of course:

(Via CNN) The new secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, has been all but silent in his first month on the job. And he is planning on traveling to Asia next week without the traditional coterie of traveling press with him.

Journalists are strenuously objecting to the plan. But there is no indication that Tillerson is going to reverse course. The State Department may allow one hand-picked journalist to tag along, but the details are unknown.

[…] A dozen Washington bureau chiefs and editors, including representatives from CNN, sent a letter to the State Department earlier this week urging the secretary to make arrangements for “pool” travel.

“Not only does this situation leave the public narrative of the meetings up to the Chinese foreign ministry as well as Korea’s and Japan’s, but it gives the American people no window whatsoever into the views and actions of the nation’s leaders,” the editors wrote. “And the offer to help those reporters who want to travel unilaterally is wholly unrealistic, given the commercial flight schedules, visa issues and no guarantee of access once they are there.”

Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg will no doubt scour the whole thing to find a way to invent it.

Between naps of course.

Odd. I was sure there was more than one airplane per day flying to various spots in Asia.

Pity these writers cannot find a way to travel around with the SOS. I am sure he misses them.

I say fly them over! Let them sit in a C-130 for 12 hours or more with their legs between someone elses, on a webbing seat.

I flew on a C-130 from Saigon to Bien Hoa once, and I thought that was too long. 😀

Flew from Chu Lai to Danang on Flying Tiger airlines
DC-3, the port engine wouldn’t start by itself so they
wrapped a nylon baggage strap around the prop hub and
hooked it to a fork lift and started it like a lawnmower.
Only took three tries. I was glad it was a short hop, we
had viet civilians with their bottles of homemade Nuc Mam
and a set of patrol dogs and handlers and nobody liked
anyone else, especially the dogs. Each time the co-pilot
would have to go to the back get out a step ladder to
stand on to wrap the prop, then get back in go up to the
cockpit and try it. It was CRAZY! The dogs didn’t like
the co-pilot at all and tried to rip him to shreds every
time he went past them. It was a hoot when you are 19 years
old.

Got any C-7 Caribou passengers here? Don’t wanna hear and sob stories about flying on the luxurious C-130. Smiles.

After much thinking about it, I realized that if the media were along with Tillerson they’d only criticize and make up fake news. So let them do that back here in the States. No need to haul them to Asia.

I’m guessing that Rex decided that

1. he worked on the plane as CEO, and he’ll use that valuable time for work as SoS. If prestitutes are on the plane - he can’t work due to no privacy.

2. Rex, I’m as assuming, likes his privacy, so why have hostile prestitutes recording his every move and word continuously.

3. they are never going to give him an honest coverage anyway - so screw-em.

Double ouch.
I was working in the tower at Laughlin. We had a C-7 come in. I asked the pilot what his air speed on final was. He said they couldn't go very fast, but they could go very slow. He was surely right.

I wonder how long the line at the head would be? Assuming there is one it’s likely pretty Spartan.

Never flew in a Caribou but loved to watch them
land at Chu Lai. They just kind of hung in the air.

This is were a lot of our taxpayer money goes .The corporate world are some the biggest welfare recipients in the country. Hwy should the taxpayer foot the bill pay for the media's reporters travel expense, food, lodging, drinking and what ever other expenses.Let their papers and networks pay for them.

that why a lot of us wanted the department of Commerce done away with during the 1990 revolution.

It got to where the big companies reps were being flown all over the planet to cinch deals with other companies or governments on Department of Commerce planes and the taxpayers footed the lodging, food , drinks entertainment, local transportation, all at the best first class hotels.

This was done weekly to try too drum up business agreements for companies with no guarantee of any benefit to the country or taxpayers. Lots of times it would be called fact finding to see if there were any income potential for the companies at all.

these trips were like the one Ron Brown was on which involved half to a dozen different reps.

A lot of these were rich companies and individuals who could and should have been paying for their own way! Big Business are the greatest freeloaders and welfare recipients in the country.

Its got to the point to were the government/taxpayers fund the research,in the universities, the satellites, the labs etc. for businesses and even cover their losses and stupid mistakes.

Now they have got to where they have the Congress pass laws to force us to buy their auto, life ,health insurance or ,can't can't drive without being fined or jailed, and we have to buy the insurance before we pay our house note, car note, utilities, or food for the week or month .

Also we have to do this even if we have missed a day for sickness or we need extra gas to get to a job that was further away than the last one and we have to buy it at the price that all these large monopolies set without any competition whatsoever.

They take a lot of our money out of our checks to spend on foreign aid on countries that cut off the head of people on the Internet and those that cut up babies in the womb to sale the mangled flesh and now they are going to force us to buy the immensely over priced insurance and stone age fuel at the price that these monopolistic companies all get together and demand we pay, well listen up.

I'm over seventy and believe me when your government tells you how much of your check you can get and then they tell you what you will spend that you do get on, regardless of your real needs, then they exempt themselves from the same laws. you are one heck of way from being a free people.
