Actually, they were fired 13 days before Clinton fired his group President Bill Clinton, summarily fired all 93 U.S. Attorneys on a single day, March 23, 1993.
Still, they should have been gone sooner. When Clinton came in the country was not in peril and GHWB was (probably) not running a shadow government intended to undermine the new president.
