FBI Director James Comey said Wednesday he plans to serve his entire 10-year term, even as controversy swirls over his attempt to rebut President Donald Trumps claim that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the election.
Youre stuck with me for another 6½ years, Comey said during a cybersecurity conference at Boston College.
Comey was appointed 3½ years ago by then-President Barack Obama.
Controversy erupted last weekend after Trump tweeted that Obama had tapped his phones at Trump Tower during the election. Trump offered no evidence of his claim. Comey asked the Justice Department to publicly reject the allegation as false.

I trust the president on this.
“Comeys ass is fireable. More so after such an arrogant statement.”
In my view, Comey needs to be charged under sedition laws.
He made a public statement, as FBI director, on an investigation that is now proved to have been approved, that he denied publicly.
He then asked another agency to further the falsehood.
Firing him is not just an option, it is the ONLY option.
How ironic.
The very next day, July 20,1993, Vince Foster would be murdered.
President Trump can indeed fire the FBI director =>

It is sometimes assumed that the President can oust an FBI director only for cause that is, for some misconduct in office. But, as a Congressional Research Service study of the directors office pointed out two years ago, there are no statutory conditions on the Presidents authority to remove the FBI director.

I think you are right.
Why do these crooked SOBs get ten year appointments to begin with? They shouldnt get more than a two year contract and have some serious penalty clauses in there if they act in a partisan manner

IMHO, there needs to be a constitutional amendment limiting EVERY appointed and elected office in the Federal Government to a maximum of eight years. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ANY REASON.
