The Democratic National Committee "rebuffed" a request from the FBI to examine its computer services after it was allegedly hacked by Russia during the 2016 election, a senior law enforcement official told CNN Thursday.
As first reported by George Eliason, CrowdStrike's Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Dimitri Alperovitch - who wrote the CrowdStrike reports allegedly linking Russia to the Democratic party emails published by Wikileaks - is a fellow at the Atlantic Council ... an organization associated with Ukraine, and whose main policy goal seems to stir up a confrontation with Russia.
The connection between Alperovitch and the Atlantic Council has gone largely unremarked upon, but it is relevant given that the Atlantic Council—which is funded in part by the US State Department, NATO, the governments of Latvia and Lithuania, the Ukrainian World Congress, and the Ukrainian oligarch Victor Pinchuk—has been among the loudest voices calling for a new Cold War with Russia.

A veteran Democratic National Committee and former Clinton administration official worked with Ukrainian officials to push dirt about President-elect Trump to journalists in a bid to help Hillary Rodham Clinton win, according to a new report.
The story identifies Alexandra Chalupa as the leader of the effort, a DNC consultant, former Clinton aide and “Ukrainian-American operative.”
Unlike the Russia hack story based on intelligence assumptions and reports, Politico’s story shows a direct tie to Ukrainian officials, the Clinton campaign and the DNC. In the story, a Ukrainian official said, “They were coordinating an investigation with the Hillary team on Paul Manafort with Alexandra Chalupa.”
On June 2, as a part of Immigrant Heritage Month 2015, ‘White House Ethnic Day’ was held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The event was organized and co-hosted by the National Democratic Ethnic Coordinating Council (NDECC) in partnership with 19 organizations, including the Hungarian American Coalition.

Strangely, every article about her neglects to mention that Chalupa and her family are not Democrats as suggested. Instead, they are admitted ultra-nationalists bent on sending America to war with Russia by any means possible. And they are vocal about it.
None of the articles connect the fact that the Clinton loss is personal for the Chalupa family. At least 2 of them were going to the White House as advisors and cabinet members.
The many articles about Chalupa or a Russian influence on the election fail to mention the Chalupas admitted to violating federal law a couple of years ago. She was part of the leadership that overthrew a country the US was at peace with. If investigated, with admissions in hand, it could mean 25 years in a federal prison.
Both Alexandra and Andrea Chalupa started what was known as Digital Maidan in 2014. Andrea Chalupa is a writer, journalist, and producer in New York. Andrea helped launch online video for Condé Nast Portfolio and AOL Money & Finance.
Another involved Chalupa we need to cover to do the story justice is Irene Chalupa. From her bio– Irena Chalupa is a nonresident fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center. She is also a senior correspondent at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), where she has worked for more than twenty years. Ms. Chalupa previously served as an editor for the Atlantic Council, where she covered Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

The Ukrainian Challupa family seems to be an originator of, and a heavy promoter of, the Russian/Trump narrative.
So, the “Russian hack” of Hillary’s server was never independently verified. The only evidence is that Hillary said so.

Crowdstrike/Alperovitch is closely associated with and heavily funded by Clinton colleague Timothy Geithner.
The DNC refused to allow the gov to investigate. The gov relied on Crowdstrike/Alperovitch claims that Russia hacked the DNC email system.
Crowdstrike/Alperovitch bases his claim partly on the claims of a Russian blogger. The blogger claims that Ukrainian military units were targeted via malware inserted onto Ukrainian tablet computers, the malware provided to Russia the location of Ukrainian troops. As “evidence” the blogger cites a 2016 International Institute for Strategic Studies report of a sharp reduction of Ukrainian D-30 howitzers between 2013 and 2015. Ukraine denies any large loss of D-30 howitzers. Alperovitch claims this same malware was used to breach the DNC email system. The malware has been available for years prior to the DNC breach.
Alperovitch is a fellow at the Atlantic Council.

His father, Michael, was a nuclear physicist who barely escaped being sent to Chernobyl as part of a rescue mission in 1986. Many of Michael’s close friends and colleagues died of radiation poisoning within months of flying to the burning power plant. The takeaway for Dmitri was that “life is cheap in the Soviet Union.”
In a statement to VOA, the institute flatly rejected the assertion of artillery combat losses.
“The CrowdStrike report uses our data, but the inferences and analysis drawn from that data belong solely to the report’s authors,” the IISS said. “The inference they make that reductions in Ukrainian D-30 artillery holdings between 2013 and 2016 were primarily the result of combat losses is not a conclusion that we have ever suggested ourselves, nor one we believe to be accurate.”
In early January, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying artillery losses from the ongoing fighting with separatists are “several times smaller than the number reported by [CrowdStrike] and are not associated with the specified cause” of Russian hacking.
Think Tank: Cyber Firm at Center of Russian Hacking Charges Misread Data
One of the IISS researchers who produced the data said that while the think tank had dramatically lowered its estimates of Ukrainian artillery assets and howitzers in 2013, it did so as part of a “reassessment” and reallocation of units to airborne forces.
“No, we have never attributed this reduction to combat losses,” the IISS researcher said, explaining that most of the reallocation occurred prior to the two-year period that CrowdStrike cites in its report.
“The vast majority of the reduction actually occurs ... before Crimea/Donbass,” he added, referring to the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
