There has to be a reason President Trump has kept Comey on as head of the FBI. I don’t know what it is, but I’m trusting the President to know what he is doing.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Comey, as FBI Director can be kept on a much shorter lease instead of released back into civilian life

An FBI director serves a 10-year term and can only be dismissed for committing a crime or serious misconduct. President Obama — or Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump — could not remove Comey because they disagree with him, but they could make his life miserable.
