Recall that Comey has given two closed briefings to Congressional committees in the past few weeks. Remember Trey Gowdy praising Comey for being forthcoming and adding that readers need to take NYT and WaPo reporting with a lot of salt. He couldn’t hide a grin when he said that, so maybe those outlets are being fed bogus leaks in a set-up or, at the least, are about to be decisively refuted.
MSM is quick to run with the Comey refutation story, while donk minion, Adam Schiff, was wringing his hands and moaning at the lack of specificity in Comey’s briefing to his committee.
Of the three, I’ll take Gowdy.

Yes, and said source probably isn't even in the government - described by the NYT as "senior American officials." Such a description can include DNC officials, NFL officials or people who are old and officially American.
