I read it in 1977. My friend, a Lebanese-American graduate student raved about so much I borrowed his copy. At the that time it seemed like science fiction, a plausible premise stretched to an impassable conclusion. Ever since then, implausible events have unfolded in such a way as to have made the book prophetic. Life is full of surprises.
