One of the talking points making the rounds: “This isn’t watergate because the Obama administration had to get a warrant from a FISA court.”
My thought immediately was garbage in garbage out. The Court will base its decision to grant a warrant on the information presented to it. The press today is glancing over that fact with a “well there must have been something there.” Oh, really?!?! Like a “video cause Benghazi” something there?
I call BS. If there had been a secret court back in Nixon’s days, you don’t think he would have used that to give his activities the imprimatur of legality.
The FISA court enabling legislation will need to be looked at— because, in this context and actions as described, and once we see the actual warrants (which they will NOT want to let out, the secrecy freaks who did this for obamaumao)- we will know what was narrowed and to whom and in answer of what end. It is starting to look like a Star Chamber court of “judges”== the ultimate dream of police tactics of a police State.

Abusing the top secret FISA process for sordid “political” ends is as bad as or worse than any scandal in our history. FISA is given extraordinary powers only for the purpose of protecting our national security against terrorism and the worst international agents. Employing the powers granted by FISA to undermine domestic political opponents, regardless of the pretense of “legality”, is WORSE than anything Nixon did (and after all, nothing about the Watergate break-in itself was ever traced to Nixon, only the “cover up” of trying to avoid embarrassment to his admin.).
