Actually, though I really dislike him, I’m not sure sassy’s statement is wrong here. Trump made a serious allegation, and we need more than riddle-like tweets that leave everybody guessing and trying to decipher. This is serious business that requires a serious approach and thorough explanations, not 40-character tweets

When trump follows up w a Schwarzenegger tweet, he’s undermining the seriousness of the tapping allegation

I’m not sure sassy’s statement is wrong here.

It's a swindle. He tries to sound so reasonably sophisticated, clear and intellectual while trapping his meagre brain cell in a false dichotomy. It isn't that he is wrong. He has crafted a statement that can't be right.

You cannot start from a false premise and then pull a valid conclusion out of the hat. Even if it is a live rabbit he is still a fraud.

He is a Harvard graduate. Either he got a gentleman's C like GWB or he actually knows what he is doing here. But the conclusion that he is a jack ass is independent of the cause of his jackassery.

And yes, as this plays out Trump has to be right that his phones were tapped. But Trump knows this better than any of us, and this is not something where you bluff. There is no upside and the downside is the instant hell the left will deliver. But that isn’t the point here, and that wasn’t Sasse’s point either. He didn’t have any valuable perspective to offer on this other than to stand up and show that he is still a #Nevertrump jerk.
