The truth is that sometimes you must hide what you believe in order to effect change.
Those in the administration who *must* deal with Islamic countries know that if you use the expression “Islamic terrorism”, these countries will run out of the room, because if they even passively accept the US using the expression, their lives may be on the line from the Islamists.
A lot of these countries cooperate with us, allow us to use their territory, and happily participate in putting down the rabid dogs. If they were forced, by our mouths, to withdraw this cooperation, the War on Terror would be a hundred times harder, and would give these Islamists effective sanctuary.
So while most of us despise those who use “weasel words”, they have a very important use in diplomacy, because “actions speak louder than words”. I would much prefer that we and these Muslim nations quietly wipe out a hundred thousand of the worst offenders every year, than just ten thousand if we have to go it alone.
Believe me, everyone involved is aware of the weasel words and why they are used. And while most of us would be thrilled for President Trump to yell out “Deus Vult!”, but that would be counterproductive as well.

There appears to be an amazing amount of self-delusion concerning Islam. Observant, faithful Muslims must necessarily become terrorists and eventually tyrants, if they’re observant and faithful.
It’s in our national interests to always “encourage” Muslim nations to have dictators in charge that aren’t serious about Islam. That was the whole problem with Obama’s idiotic “Arab Spring.” Democratically elected governments in Muslim nations are likely to produce multiple Irans.

Murders, rapes, beheadings, burning and drowning people alive, mutilating women’s genitals, cutting off other body parts such as noses etc., throwing acid in women’s faces, so-called “honor killings” where a disobedient child is murdered by her own family, the treating of women as chattel/property, sexual molesting of children both boys and girls, installing sharia law in replacement of local and national law in the areas they occupy, fomenting intimidation, terror, and anarchy.
