At our meeting with the financial community this morning, we will provide detail on the meaningful investments we’re making in our business and financial model which will position Target for long-term, sustainable growth in this new era in retail
At last check, TGT was trading 12% lower after the earnings, wiping out $4 billion in market cap and weighing in on peers such as Walmart.

I am baffled at the mind-set of a CEO who would go out of his way to offend at least 1/2 of his customers -- probably more. It's bad enough to institute such a perverse restroom policy, but to broadcast it with such fanfare. Such people truly live in a intellectual bubble.

Just imagine if the TSA were treated with the same disrespect Target gets on this thread (which is representative of many people nationwide, who are causing Target to shrivel up).

I haven’t set foot in a Target since their bathroom policy. Same as I haven’t set foot in J.C.Penny and cut up my credit card, since they started pushing their homosexual agenda. I hear a bunch of them are closing.
I don’t know why these people can’t just shut up and sell their merchandise.
Well, in the spirit of diversity, many of their customers decided to diversify their shopping options. Business owners should always consider potential side effects of both new policies and insulting current customers.

Target reported a disappointing set of first-quarter results on Wednesday and warned investors to expect a slight drop in business in the current quarter. The discount retailer pointed to many factors pinching sales, damp and cool weather in parts of the company and skittish consumers, among them.
But one thing not hitting sales is the purported boycott of Target by many customers offended by the company’s announcement last month that it would allow transgender customers and employees to use the bathroom in its stores that aligns with their identity. That came soon after a controversial law in North Carolina was passed about the use of bathrooms.
CNBC also had a long piece on Target’s woes, but not even a peep about the possibility that allowing perverts into womens’ bathrooms had anything to do with their drop in sales.
I was thinking the same thing.
There should be an index fund that tracks these “political nitwit” businesses.

They also had a really lousy selection of Christmas and holiday decor this year. Nothing interesting worth buying. Probably worked great with the Millenials IKEA but if they aren’t into Christmas, Target’s loss.
