On Friday, The Forward published an article by Lili Bayer arguing that Sebastian "Seb" Gorka, the deputy assistant to President Trump and a frequent presence on television and radio, was linked to anti-Semitic right-wing extremists in Hungary. Using the logic of six degrees of separation, Bayer argued that Gorka was anti-Semitic, never mind that the 3,000-word report did not cite a single instance of Gorka's alleged anti-Semitism.
The whole piece smacks of a political hatchet job.
Eli Clifton, a blogger fired by the Center for American Progress — the think tank at the heart of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, and once disavowed by the Obama White House for an alleged anti-Israel obsession — originated the fanciful accusation that Gorka was linked to Hungarian neo-Nazis.
No sooner did The Forward publish its piece than the Anti-Defamation League — now led by Jonathan Greenblatt, a former Obama administration official — demanded that Gorka disavow Hungarian hate groups. In effect, the ADL lends it name to a campaign without substance to smear a man against whom no one has found evidence of anti-Semitism.
Greenblatt's actions follow the logic of the Salem Witch Trials: Only the guilty float when thrown into a pond. In this case, if Gorka does not respond, the ADL can suggest the Trump administration ignores anti-Semitism, but if Gorka does respond even to denounce Hungarian extremism, it suggests legitimacy to the charge.
Indeed, the obsession with Gorka and all the debunked charges thrown his way should have given Greenblatt and the ADL pause.

Gorka is definitely the Hungarian anti Soros. He is magnificent. Love to watch him in action.
I agree for this reason-
Both Gen Michael Flynn and Dr. Sebastian Gorka undersand practicing fundamental Islam like Muhammad did, is a problem for us non- Muslims.
I was thrilled when Pres. Trump put them both in positions to help him in the fight agains Islamic terrorism, but I also knew they would become top targets of the American hating Muslim supporting left.
Gen Flynn has been pushed out and replaced by Gen McMasters who has the OBAMA take on terrorism, which takes away the religious ideological motivation of the terrorists.
Ousting Flynn is a big victory for the Terrorists and their supporters.
I feel it is a bad choice for Pres. Trump to appoint Gen. McMasters to replace Gen. Flynn because McMasters won't admit Islam as practiced by Muhammad is our problem
I hope Dr. Gorka can hang in there as he would be the top target now that Gen. Flynn is gone and replaced by the OBAMA leaning Gen McaMasters. -Tom
Anyone heard anything about this writer or the ADL condeming Soros for his actions during the war? I haven’t. Until I do, neither has any credibility.
Not that I agree with it, but I have heard it said that this strategy was aimed at not offending those muslims who are allied with us in the fight.
That is most assuredly not how Gorka sees things.
Given that Gorka sees jihad as very much part of islam, his (Gorka's) delight in seeing McMaster selected as National Security Adviser to the President is irreconcilable UNLESS Gorka and McMaster actually see eye-to-eye on islam.
This would imply that McMaster understands the islamic component better than he has let on but had to bend to Obama's wishes while Obama was Commander-in-Chief.
We can rest assured that Trump and Bannon have had a chat with McMaster about this very issue.
McMaster’s squishy speech at the Virginia Military Institute certainly doesn’t sound like it was something demanded of him. These were very impressionable, very young people. To mislead them in such a way indicates McMaster is without principles rather than merely mistaken in good faith.
McMaster had no trouble identifying Nazi fascism, Japanese imperialism, and communist totalitarianism. But he couldn’t come close to saying Islam or Islamism, rather identifying generic “perverted interpretation of religion”.
He spoke very firmly in the speech I saw--as though he really believed what he was saying.
That said, Obama demanded all his generals to toe the line with regard to not naming the enemy. I think that is why Flynn got the axe. Flynn refused to toe the line.
