It wouldn’t help senators, but representatives should have ID checks at the door and allow only real constituents into their town hall meetings.
Or, just stop having these dumb things.
You will find it interesting what I heard happened this morning at Rep Palmer’s town hall in suburban Birmingham. The townhall was to begin at 9am. I heard from someone who got there at 7 and said there were already 1000s in line (and the venue held a couple of thousand - as I was told).
When it came time to let the people in, only the first couple hundred were allowed in and the rest told to go home. Those first couple 100 were protesters who had camped out last night to be first in line.
I am rather shocked this happened here, and wonder who was behind this decision.
