Two entities that come to mind are large camera/electronics outlets located in New York.
Like B&H Photo? I dealt with them back as part of my job back in the early 2000s and they were terrible.
Essentially misrepresented the products, then made it as hard as hell to do a return, refund, etc.

I love B&H photo. Best prices and I have never had a bad customer service engagement. The local camera shops here in Silicon Valley aren’t always professional and are only good for print consumables.

I have tried to support the local camera stores but the service is bad and to top it off, I have to pay an additional 9.25 percent so the State can ignore our infrastructure.

B&H has done me very well. As has Adorama, OneCall, and a few others. They might have had issues in the past, but I believe that they’ve maybe overcome those issues. Good return policy, fast sales, and usually free shipping.

Wow, I have had nothing but great success with B&H. I upgraded some camera equipment last year and got free expedited shipping on most of the stuff. Plus I don’t have to pay state and local governments 10% of the purchase price to spend money I have already paid state and federal income tax. To be honest, I only use them for more expensive items, the absence of taxes allows me to spend a little more on my choices.
