The DSM (the psychology ‘Bible’) long ago was converted from a manual to a political plaything.
Psychologists have always had to fight against claims that their field was not a science - this is why, in the old days, they were over-the-top with their sampling accuracy/statistics, peer review, repeatable results, etc. They wanted empiricism to reign (no pun intended).
Then homosexuality was arbitrarily reclassified in the DSM - probably by homosexuals - and the floodgates broke. Skepticism was replaced by indulgence. Science was replaced by emotion. And here we are.
So next time your country needs you, you’ll be a girl instead of actually fleeing to Canada?
