I totally believe you. It was the same for me here when I moved to Canada.
Non-stop hatred and bile. Just disgusting.
The Canadians I came across in the UK were just as venomous. The Aussies, on the other hand, entirely different. Met a few ex-Americans (refuse to call them ‘ex-pats’) who moved there to GET AWAY from the US. Didn’t want to associate with them when I found out their politics.
I grew a lot living abroad. Truly ‘eye and soul opening’.
