Following the capture of 8 villages earlier in the day, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) swept through another five ISIS-held villages in a huge offensive that now has Kurdish forward units stationed at the northern bank of the Euphrates River in a region some 40 kilometers east of the provincial capital of Raqqa.

Effectively, the SDF were able to impose full control over the villages of Al Kajla, Judayat Khabur, Hamad Assaf, Al Kulayb and Al Kulayb and the latters Grain Silos.
Further operations are ongoing along the Euphrates River as ISIS militants have left behind several areas without firing a single bullet.
With phase III of the Euphrates Wrath offensive firmly underway, the SDF are trying to set its forces up for the final assault on Raqqa city itself.
Meanwhile, 850 locals from Hasakah city were recruited into Kurdish YPG (Peoples Protection Units) on Tuesday.
Apparently the fighting was intense:
U.S. Army Colonel Christopher Garver, chief spokesman for the US military command in Iraq and Syria, commented that fighting was "very intense", describing it as "different than what we've seen in Fallujah [or] Ramadi" and concluding that "this is a fight like we haven't seen before."

Do you have a source for this calumny on the CIA?
Thanks for the ping. It’s odd how many seem to believe ISIS is invincible.
You’re right; most of them will die in Raqqa. Their HQ’s or Caliphate is going to be taken. There still will be cells and danger from them, but they’ll own no land and will be pursued by their many enemies. America haters will attribute super powers to them, but they’re being destroyed.
Collapse. There is much more firepower being brought against them now.
There’s this: http://nypost.com/2017/02/17/isis-is-going-broke/ No CIA angle, but...
I hope that the Kurds have the good sense to kill every Isis fighter young or old. Extinction is the best remedy.
Great EVIL is the source of their power. And it will devour them.
Thanks, I had not read that.
