Age of Consent laws are meant to safeguard against taking advantage of youth
that while sexually mature are not emotionally mature.
What determines the upper age at which a sexual interaction with a minor becomes unlawful?
To illustrate what I’m referring to... if the age of consent is 15 does an interaction by a 16-year-old with
the 15-year-old result in the 16 year old being charged as a sex offender?
Used bad numbers there..if the age of consent is 15 then the 16-year-old would be okay.
Stated better...if a 15-year-old has a sexual interaction with a 14-year-old does the 15-year-old get charged?
