Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly officially ordered federal agents this week to begin arresting and deporting more illegal immigrants, releasing them from the handcuffs the Obama administration had imposed, and making headway on one of President Trumps chief campaign promises.

Good one. I guess Obama just assumed every proclamation he made would be etched in stone - live by the proclamation, die by the proclamation...so let’s hope the do-nothing-congress follows up on some of these EO’s with laws that can’t be just undone by the next democratic occupant of the white house (and yes sadly, there will be one someday, so let’s not govern like it will never happen).

True story....a business owner asked a prospective employee to provide the necessary paperwork to prove it was legal to hire said employee. The prospective employee complied and provided the paperwork.......written in plain English on the paperwork was the following (paraphrasing): you do not have to provide this paperwork to a prospective employer ** and ** it is illegal to deny employment because this paperwork was not produced when asked for.........
.^^^ this is what employers are up against!

Its the fedgovs job to secure the borders and make sure that only legal immigrants are here. The GOV is also responsible for collecting taxes, SS, etc. Employers play a role in that too.

You need to think that through a little more.
It’s no different than a business looking the other way while using/reselling stolen property. After all it’s the police’s job to handle that....

You are right but DACA is a tough one and a PR nightmare waiting to happen. Start with the lower hanging fruit like the felons to get things going in the right direction.

Seen a story yesterday, we have paperwork on over 900,000 illegals who are over due for deportation for one law infraction or another. Thats just the ones they admit to on short notice.
If employers are breaking the law hiring and harboring illegals, they need to face the music NOW. Its a federal crime.

Hopefully this news will flash like a lightning bolt across the Spanish-language news media. With any luck the pawn shops will see an explosion of business activity as the illegals cash in their things for the trip south of the border.

I guess it’s true, we don’t need new laws, just enforce the laws on the books.

From the article:
Drafts of the memos had leaked in recent days, sparking feverish outcry from immigrant-rights groups who said they were a major step back in respecting illegal immigrants.
These are criminal aliens that illegally broke into out precious country. And we're supposed to have respect for them? Yeah, I respect them just as much as I respect a thief who breaks into my house.

1. Using a Social Security Number that is not yours is identity theft.
2. Identity theft is a felony.
3. Illegal immigrants who have committed or been convicted of felonies are to be immediately deported.

Exempting DACA and parents of anchor babies leaves two major incentives for illegals to come here.
But this is at least a great first step.
To: JPJones
Part of the problem with illegals includes the lure of businesses willing to look the other way at immigration law. Yes, the fedgov created the mess, but it’s abetted by any and all who skirt existing law.

Exactly. I view business owners who hire illegals like homeowners that negligently keep pools of water that act as mosquito breeding grounds.

... sounds like something from the Charleston Heston version of ‘The Ten Commandments’.
Ramses next line was: “So let it be written; so let it be done.”
I like Captain Jon-Luc Picard’s version: “Make it so.”

Business owners know not to hire illegals in the first place. Many cannot be bothered doing the research, or just want cheaper labor which takes jobs away from Americans. Business owners trading in a market where all their competitors are cutting costs with illegal labor must do likewise, or close up.
It's up to government to see that this situation does not arise.

Prosecute business owners that hire illegals. That will fix a lot of problems.

Nah, we need to keep a record of his malfeasance so that we don't do the same thing again.
