In the village of Xeraba Bavê (Koruköy) in Nusaybin district of Mardin where the blockades and attacks of Turkish forces continue for nine days, houses are being raided again. The state forces searching houses during the raids tortured and hospitalized a villager named Samet Akdeniz. Hatice Akdeniz, the wife of Samet Akdeniz who spoke to ANF from inside the village explained the current situation in Xeraba Bavê.

"PROPERTIES SMASHED"

Stating that state forces carried out raids on villages one by one during the afternoon hours, Hatice Akdeniz told ANF, "They [Turkish forces] insulted us during the searches, our properties have been smashed. They made us go through great fear. All the houses in the village were raided."

"MY HUSBAND WAS TORTURED"

Remarking that her husband Samet Akdeniz was tortured and taken away, Akdeniz said that her husband who returned home after hours was unrecognizable and began to vomit. She told that her husband was taken to the hospital with an ambulance as his condition became worse.

"VILLAGERS STARVING"

Noting that the villagers have been under blockade for days and that all their animals had died, Hatice Akdeniz said that they were now starving.

"CHILDREN LIVING IN HORROR'

Referring to the situation of the children in the village, Akdeniz said: "Our children are living in horror, they do not get out under the blankets, their psychology is in a seriously bad condition."

"SAVE US"

Lastly, Akdeniz called out for urgent help in the face of these practises and said, "Save us and our children from this horror at once". She added that there was no way she could explain the cruelty they were facing.

HDP DELEGATION DENIED ACCESS TO THE VILLAGE

On Sunday a delegation consisting of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) officials attempted to reach the village for the second time but were stopped by soldiers.

The delegation stated that they were worried about the safety of the villagers, adding that the governorship and interior ministry had not responded to their calls in relation to the village. The delegation also reported that the villagers had contacted the DBP for help.

The HDP issued a statement on Sunday, raising concerns on serious human rights violations in the village.

"Gory images and videos on social media, posted with the title 'Images taken by soldiers', and allegations are extremely serious. There have been claims that all Xerabê Bava inhabitants have been gathered in one house, their phones have been collected, and some are being systematically tortured and executed," it said.

The HDP called on international organizations, democratic entities and peace coalitions to immediately investigate the allegations.

Just when you think it is safe to come home, it begins again.

Is this Erdogans desperation to win the referendum or his hate of the Kurds for being effective Fighters of ISIS?

Of course the opposition press has been closed, the opposition party officials and candidates have been jailed and all news is now Propaganda.

NATO member Turkey? What could possibly go wrong?

Payback for the Turks & Erdogan will eventually be born from Erdogan’s atrocities. The Kurds are vastly outnumbered by the Turks today. But the Kurds’ birthrates are massively higher now than that of the ethnic Turks. A generation or two from now, it will be a fairer fight with fighting age populations closer to parity. And Kurds are FAR BETTER FIGHTERS and far more motivated than the Turks.

I don’t question any of what you stated.

I just hope they get a good outcome in Syria when the dust settles.

It appears to me that within the past 2 days the International Hard Lefties are trying to hijack the Syria battle. Not sure if it is Propaganda to label the Syrian Kurds or if the International Left sees they will win over ISIS.

I’m taking a wait see on this part of it.

I’m totally behind the Syrian Kurds. Know a few of them quite well.
