What would it cost you to keep it civil?

It would cost you going back to carefully re-read your own post and trying to get my attempt at humor, even if it is a poor attempt.

So if you make an attempt at humor, and somebody doesn’t get it, you unleash rudeness? Does being uncivil make you feel better about somebody not getting your joke?

Dear Stentor— never attempt humour that parodies a root meaning of a mis-spelled word with a totally linear thinking person. It is hopeless. Linear thinkers are quite useful for certain jobs, but not... 3D chess. Enjoyed the exchange tween y’all.

Like a quote from “Bandit” with Jackie Gleason (with a very poor ‘southern’ accent that made it even funnier) as the sheriff, and his radio dispatch who, in tracking the Bandit—Jerry Reed, uses the phrase “it’s not germain”... to which Gleason replies— “what do the gol durned Germans got to do with it”. That sort of thing.
