Mexico City (AFP) - Ford is sticking with its plan to build two new factories in Mexico, despite an announcement last month that it had scrapped plans for a plant in the central state of San Luis Potosi.
The US carmaker said a planned factory in the central state of Guanajuato will build engines and transmissions, while another in the northern city of Chihuahua will make car parts for use by Ford factories in the United States, South America and Asia.

It would happen anyhoo.
There is no need for an organized boycott, as (if the header is true) a major boycott would just happen. It would be an instinctive and gut-level response. (And all the smarmy fake patriotic advertising during NFL games would not budge truck buyers, who are smarter than Ford might think.)
The very definition of a total faux pas among American workers? ...
... Showing up to the worksite in a Ford.
If the article is true, the Ford brand becomes instantly toxic.
The Free Traders seem to think that a service economy can provide high wages, it can’t for the masses. You can’t buy a $50K vehicle working as a janitor. You have to build and produce something, yet the globalization, cheap labor express can’t seem to figure this out. Who the hell is going to buy all their crap if you can’t afford it???
Fair trade is the ticket. I pay 0% to export a product to your country and you pay 0% to export that product to my country and we compete. If you are going to subsidize an industry that we are competing with that has to be taken into the import tariff equation as well. The USA taking the back seat is over.
Would you like to know where your vehicle was made? Here are some of the most common country codes. Youll find these letters or numbers in the first position of the VIN:
U.S.: 1, 4 or 5 Canada: 2 Mexico: 3 Japan: J Korea: K England: S Germany W
This is more MSM spin to get us to do exactly what some are doing, which is to ignore Trump's success in keeping jobs here.
I'm not taking the bait, and in spite of Ford's missteps, American made Fords are still on my list the next time I'm ready to buy.
Many of these cars go to Central America and South America.
